Comptoir des Anges

The story of a name

More than two thousand years ago, Greek sailors from Marseille settled at the foot of a hill open to the sea. There they founded a comptoir, or trading post, a place to trade, talk and meet, and named it Nikaïa. From this trading post, Nice was born.

Today, on that same hill, facing the Baie des Anges, the Bay of Angels, our name pays tribute to the origins of the city: le Comptoir des Anges.
